Social Media Specialist

Midwestern Auto Group is a leader in the European automotive retail and servicing market. We are a growing company looking to add vital personnel as we continue our pattern of growth in the coming years. Midwestern Auto Group is seeking an experienced Social Media Specialist (SMS) at our campus located in Dublin, Ohio. The individual will engage in maximizing our social media presence and promotion. The SMS will be responsible for implementing the dealerships’ social media strategy to increase our online presence, improve outreach and engagement to targeted demographics, and aid in increasing sales through brand and dealership awareness. The position is also responsible for creating unique, engaging, and quality planned content in the form of posts, car reviews, how-to videos, customer reviews, and promotions as well as interaction with the dealership personnel and the public. The position will also assist with written content creation, and video / photographic content for events at and promoted by the dealership. The position will also deliver media-ready content to be reviewed, critiqued, and finalized before posting.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the VP of Marketing with the oversight of marketing integration, to include event social media, enhance members’ experience during meetings and promote continuity across events.

  • Oversees cross-channel marketing activities (website, social media, email communications, blog, monthly newsletter, public relations and promotional material) under the supervision of the VP of Marketing.

  • Assist the VP of Marketing to translate and execute business objectives and goals into social media marketing strategies and plans.

  • Responsible for the Company’s social media content development and the oversight of all social media accounts to include Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram. Ensure social media content is aligned with marketing and event efforts.

  • Must stay current with the latest paid media trends and technology to make recommendations as necessary on the direction and new modes of communication.

  • Assist with event awareness/promotion through social media outlets - Attend, photograph, film, and live stream events

  • Manage organic content social media calendar - Planning posts throughout the month for sixteen (16) individual Facebook pages, seven (7) Instagram accounts, three (3) Twitter accounts, and one (1) YouTube account

 

• Create Content

- Researches vehicles, history of vehicles, the automobile industry and lesser-known facts and knowledge to relate and discuss throughout the posts being created.

- Ties in the dealership and its qualities to content being created to promote and engage with the public

- Creates unique and engaging reviews, content, interviews, etc. to post online

- Records video, and audio, captures images of interviews, reviews of vehicles, etc.

- Edits video, images, etc. through tools and software provided in a timely and efficient manner.

 

• Maintain effective internal and external communications/knowledge of products

- Collects information for posts through research, interviews, etc..

- Informs all parties involved regarding advertising/events/promotions through social media outlets

- Discusses project plans with the marketing team and others involved including status updates, deadlines, changes during the creation

- Stays informed of social trends / do’s and don’ts / and effective strategy implementation

 

• Responsible for increasing our followers and engagement on our Social Media platforms

- Improving engagement

- Obtaining goals set forth by the Marketing team to increase views followers and awareness of the business and the brands we sell and service.

• Assist with marketing plans on manufacturers’ websites related to Social Media

• Directional Information from vendors and manufacturers regarding social updates to review and improve upon skills

The Events / Social Media Specialist reports to the VP of Marketing / Vice President

 

Qualifications:

Exceptional research and planning skills

Comfortable in front of and behind the camera(s)

Excellent written and verbal communication, strong organizational skills, and work ethic.

Adapts to change in a fast-paced environment, fluent in social media platforms and managing tools used to support large numbers of accounts

Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Basic understanding of Video Pre-Production through Postproduction

Social Media Video / Audio / Graphics editing

- Photography / Videography experience is a plus

- Understanding Sprout Social is a plus

- Marketing Agency experience is a plus

Employment is subject to a satisfactory background and driving record check

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE (Include necessary licenses and specialized training.)

  • Associates degree or bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business, preferred

  • At least 2 years of experience working in the marketing field is required, but more is preferred.

  • Prior experience in the automotive industry preferred
