Service Specialist Job Summary 
As a Service Specialist, you will own our customer’s experience in the service lane and are the first point of contact for the client as it relates to their vehicle status, repairs, diagnostics and issues. You will need to become well-versed in product offerings, inventory needs, technician scheduling and customer service. From greeting vehicle owners on the drive line to explaining the repair process, our Service Specialists are true professionals who enjoy helping others. This is an entry-level position designed in order to bring someone into the automotive industry in a role that will allow them to gain on the job skills and hands on experience dealing with clients to eventually become a fully fledged service writer. 

Service Specialist Responsibilities 

  • Will work under and report directly to the lead Service Advisor

  • Greets customers promptly

  • Obtains customer and vehicle information

  • Clearly reports all vehicle symptoms as described by the customer

  • Determines and recommends needed maintenance base on age, mileage, and vehicle history

  • Prepares complete and accurate estimate of cost for labor and parts

  • Establishes follow-up time

  • Monitors the progress of each vehicle throughout the day, updating customers frequently

  • Verifies that final invoice reconciles with work performed on the repair order

  • Meet with customers and determine their needs for repair and/or service of their vehicle issues

Service Specialist Qualifications

  • Possess above-average phone and communication skills

  • Bring a positive, upbeat attitude to this role and be completely comfortable upselling clients

  • Excellent follow-up and follow-through skills to ensure client satisfaction

  • Must have the ability to communicate technical information in non-technical terms to clients

  • Ability to evolve and adapt to changing business needs
